Digital I/O Module V2.0

Digital I/O Module V2.0

Last time I have build the Digital I/O module for RC2014 and it works well. The address decoder part is not engineered well as it takes a lot of I/O addresses. It looks like the second version of the I/O module has been released, so I have bought the version 2.0 on somewhere in April 2017, but I never have time to  build it. So several weeks ago I have an opportunity to build this kit.

As usual, all RC2014 kits are came from UK with reasonable shipping cost (for me it is low shipping cost !) and it will take a week to arrive. The kits is well packed, nothing damaged except some pins are probably bended during shipping. So lets open the package and make sure everything is there.

Nothing much with the components, looks like everything there. So lets inspect the PCB.

The PCB is the same quality as previous. The components are well arranged comparing with the previous version. The addressing logic looks the same as the old version. So lets heat up the iron and go for solder.

Above is the completed board. It looks very nice. I have also cleaned the flux. So lets give it a shot.

It looks like no problem with the board. Everything work fine. I’m happy with this board, but just wondering if the creator of this board will fix the addressing part in the next version.
